![]() ![]() Jordan and Donnie soon become rich, as the hiring of some of Jordan's friends who range from drug dealers to contraband traders Alden "Sea Otter" Kupferberg, Chester Ming, Robbie Feinberg, Nicky "Rugrat" Koskoff and Toby Welch build the company out. After learning a few tricks and the art form stock brokering itself from Jordan, the pair decide to open their own firm, Stratton Oakmont, after Jordan resigns his former broker job. The duo continue their mutual bonding, by smoking crack in a shed, a present as Donnie puts it, in gratitude of Jordan's partnerships. He further goes on to state that if it did happen he would jokingly take the child out to the countryside and let it go free, but seriously clarifies that he would likely send the kid to an institution for proper care, if it ever happened. Jordan questions him politely on the situation of having children, as the likelihood of mental deficiency would be very high, to which Donnie retorts that he already has two kids who are completely fine. The two grew up together, and Hildy apparently became so attractive that Donnie wanted to ensure no other man would have her "I am not going to let another man fuck my cousin." He convinced her and their family of accepting a first-cousin marriage, which is legal in New York, and soon after marries her. While drinking together at a bar, Donnie reveals that he is actually married to his first cousin, Hildy Azoff. Donnie stays by his word and goes to a payphone with Jordan, to call his former supervisor to quit his job, saying, "Hey Paulie, what's up? No everything is fine, hey listen, I quit!"ĭonnie soon becomes friends with Jordan, as they begin to hang out more. Impressed, Donnie says that if Jordan is not fooling around about this, he will quit his job and work under Jordan, or as Donnie put it: "Show me a pay stub for $72,000 and I will quit my job right now and work for you." Jordan chuckles and produces a pay stub to show he is not fibbing. Donnie wonders what kind of career here offers such a princely income, and Jordan answers he has been brokering pink sheet penny stocks, which are high risk but offer a high rate of return on sales, in essence the stock market's counterpart to junk bonds. Donnie further questions Jordan on what his salary is, to which Jordan slyly says barely under seventy-two grand. He also reveals to Jordan that he actually is one of his neighbors, living in the same building as him and his wife, Teresa, on the 4th floor. He asks what his profession is, which is being a stock broker, and replies that he coincidentally works at a company known as Jordan's Furniture. After brief pleasantries, Donnie admires a late-model Jaguar in the driveway's parking lot and asks if Jordan is the owner, to which Jordan replies in the affirmative. In 1987, Donnie Azoff was at a diner where he introduced himself to Jordan Belfort, who was also having breakfast there. ![]()
